Having recently carried out an external training course in collaboration with Sunamp, the Dynamic Heaters team are officially registered to install and sign off Sunamp water heater installations.

A select group from the Dynamic Heaters team recently travelled to Edinburgh to partake in a technical training programme at the Sunamp head office and factory. The course provided both installation and technical understanding of the multiple applications for the versatile range of products.

Why Sunamp heat batteries?

The thermal storage heat batteries manufactured by Sunamp Ltd are unique in their field and their success is largely down to the patented, “Plentigrade” PCM (Phase Change Material), created in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh. The PCM has been proven to store up to 4 x more energy than water, meaning the heaters can remain hot once charged for up to 2 weeks if unused. This break through technology allows Sunamp heat batteries to be smaller and more compact than traditional hot water systems, saving space and making them easier to site in properties.

Not only is the PCM efficient, the non hazardous, non toxic substance has been proven to work without degrading in efficiency for over 40,000 + cycles, or the equivalent of 55 years daily usage. Unlike electrical batteries, the Plentigrade material does not create any end-of-life disposal issues and is seen as an environmentally friendly solution. Sunamps Chief Executive, Andrew Bissell, recently commented “Our analysis based on today’s fuel costs has shown that householders can expect to save as much as 1000kWh per year, equivalent to cutting electricity bills by £250 a year at today’s prices by using a Thermino e instead of traditional direct hot water cylinder.”
